Love love love these pages.

We used the beautiful Pear and Partridge paper pack with the Imagine cart Santa’s village.  I also used   Artiste for the accordion/rosette/medallion.  Turned out lovely.

These layouts feature the CTMH Flirty paper pack and Dimensional Elements.  Obviously I used my indispensable Cricut and my Imagine. 

For the 1^st layout I used Hello Kitty Font (for font), and Art Philosophy for all the leaves and acorns.  I also used CTMH Stamp set Harvest Happiness to stamp all the leaves and acorns in several fall colors.  I added the CTMH Burlap Ribbon for texture.

 On the 2^nd layout, I used the Imagine Enjoy the Season cart.  I just changed the colors to match the CTMH papers.  Came out so cute- I love these pages.

Just a Simple Fun Card

A quick little card I made for my BFF. 

 

 I used my Imagine, the Imagine More Cards cart and I snuck in the Art philosophy cart for the red scallop trim behind the little daisies.  I added an action wobble behind the chick on the cover – those things are so fun.  Oh, don’t forget the goggle-eye to give it that goofy look. 

I printed the inside sentiment from my computer.   A simple fun card. 

Teacher Thank You

This teacher’s gift was a fun one.  Yes, it is just a giftcard but the packaging was so cute and easy to make with my imagine.  The pattern, cow, and phrase are all from the Imagine More Cards cart.  I used Forever Young for the purse.  I fit the gift card on the card,  and used the same little cow as a accent on the card.  Put on a little ribbon and there you have it.

Crazy Birthday Cards

 I said in my last post we had a few birthdays.  Just wanted to share the cards I had made this past month.

The first card was an invite.  Here I am, self-proclaimed crafting artist and my son wants me to do some invitations for his party.  Woo Hoo! Oh but wait, he wants then “simple Mom, just make then plain”.  Are you serious?  This is what he had me do -- A true profit (card maker) is never appreciated in their own (home) town   Oh well at least  it was easy.  

These first 2 “real” cards were simple ones I peace-mailed on the imagine and cut as a base and then again with the sentiment circle pop-dotted.

This next strange looking thing is called a “Creeper”.  If your Kids play the game “Mind Craft” they will know what that is – weird, I know, but it went over well.

Here is a little gift bag and tag for a death wizard we know (Wizard 101). I used a heart, triangle, and belt (from Paper doll Dress Up) to make the hat.  I used the image and Cricut Craft Room to color and just print.  Then I  hand cut it out. This is my work around until there is a fix for this in CCR.

The last ones are my favorite – X-box controllers.  There was a controller on one of the carts but it didn’t look like x-box, so I welded various images together from the Art Philosophy cart and presto-change-o you have an authentic looking X-box controller.  I used some pop dots for the joysticks and some glaze on the buttons.  Really like how they came out.

Of course I used  some of Emma’s My Creative Ttime Stamp for the inside.

Happy Easter -- Simple Gifts

Hello Friends. Family, and Followers,

I just wanted to share some quick Easter crafts with you. 

First, I made some supper easy candybar wrappers with the imagine and Nursery Tails.  I layered some patterns and images and added a monogram initial from A Child’s Year.  Since the Imagine and Cricut Craft Room (CCR) still don’t know how to cut and print a multilayered image without cutting all the layers into pieces, I only printed and then hand-cut the rectangle shape with my paper cutter.  Easy Peasy. 

Hey, did you notice -- Organic Chocolate?  We have been trying to eat healthy, fresh, natural, and organic – Who knew they could make chocolate even better for you --- Wooo Hooo!!

Next, I made some simple bunny Action Wobble head gift cardholders.  My kids are older, so I make a lot of gift cardholder these days.  Just used some stretched ovals, circles, ink, gem eyes, gamit glue, and ribbon – simple simple simple!  Then place I-tune cards inside and you’re done.

 Then I made the unhealthy stuff for the neighborhood kids.  Little Debbie brownie eggs with nerd feet turned in to cute little bunnies!  Stretched a tag from Art Philosophy cart for the carrot, added “Jesus Luvs U!“  -- my way to let them know it’s about Jesus.  The head shape is a folded shape from Art Philosophy again.

Birsthday Party Stair-Step Card

Hello friends, visitors and followers,

Today I have a birthday card for a special girl who is turning 13.  Since she is going to be a teenager, I wanted to make it special.  I hope she will like it.

Cartridges:
I used the imagine cartridge Yummy for the banner, cake table, and presents.  I did use some patterns from Good Old Days & the cute little mouse hiding behind the table came from Winter Frolic.  The chair is from Love you a Latte.  Lastly, I used Best Friends  imagine cart for the balloons.






 See the sweet littel mouse hidding in the shadows behind the table.  He wants to leave a present too!


 Lose Directions: I lifted the basic card dimension from Michelleat Wandering Scissors here.  I did change them up a bit – here is what I use: 
Start with a strip of 5½ x 10½ cardstock.
Score at 1½, 2½, 4½, 6 & 8¼
Cut 3 strips of coordinating paper at 5 ½ length by 1¼, 1¾, & 2 in high
Background cardstock (wallpaper) cut at 5 ¼ x 4 ½ (I bent this up/forward just a bit so it would stand up straight once placed on the card)

I cut my images out at sizes that seemed to fit well on the card. 

 Other Supplies: 

Pop-dots,  1 Action Wobble, Smooch pearlized accents, glitter pen, sentiments form Emma’s My Creative Time (polka-dot-surpriseset), some thread (on the balloon strings), tape runner, Xyron, inks.  Letters on the banner I stamped with an old alphabet set (don’t know who it’s from). Paper die cut numbers that I have had forever (#13). Background Wallpaper is from DCWV Citrus matstack

 Of Interest:

I used my first Action Wobble (on the present with the #13) – love it!  I ordered mine from PeachyKeen stamps at 25 for $10.49, but I also saw them on Amazon and Ebay.

I cut the chair out in triplicate and in different shades, removed inner legs on one image, and bent it to give it a 3D look – it even casts a shadow.



I cutout some of the presents and bows twice and pop dotted them for more dimension.

I am really pleased with how this turned out – this was my first step card!

Early Bird Layout for Jinger Adams Design Team Call

Two days in a row – I know -- WOW!  This post is worth it.  I have a creation I made for the Jinger Adams Design Team Call.  It is open to everyone so link here to get the scoop on entering.  

 My main reason for crafting is scrapbooking but it seems I am always busy working on other things (cards, school projects, altered crafts, and home décor) and never get any scraping done.  Well, I finally have another scrapbook page to share.  It is only a one-page layout, but I absolutely love the look.

I just got the new “Good Old Days” imagine cart this week and it is such a sweet set of images.  It is my current favorite.

Recipe for layout:

-Cut and print Background shape.  I used a pattern from the Imagine cart Elise (These papers coordinate nicely with The Good Old Days cart).  I got the scallop shape from the CTMH Art Philosophy cart. 

-Print title on the background paper.  (I used CCR & Imagine for this but a PC and large print works well too).

-Print and cut a top layer for title in a coordinating color ( I wielded mine slightly in CCR.)

-Print & cut focus image.  (I used the adorable birds on the new Good Old Days cart).

I took the birds, deleted the background, and had CCR print & cut them.  I pop-dotted them on the same image I had already printed on the background pattern.  The pop-dots give it a nice dimensional look.

-Cut frames and corners on solid card stock.

-Ink most all edges and glue down.

- Add a few embellishments.  I used some brads, string, and a label frame.

- Add Photos (I will be adding photos of my sleeping teenager)  and share with all!

All the other shapes and lettering are from CTMH Art Philosophy Cart (my other current favorite).

I used the Circuit Craft room (CCR) to design it all.  If you haven’t used CCR yet, it is a free on-line tool that is getting better all the time and really enhances your circuiting experience.  For this project, some layers were only “printed”, while other layers were “cut” or “cut & printed”.  Again – lots of versatility with my imagine inside the CCR.

Love Notes Box ** Made The Chirp**

            
        I could call it a Smile Box
This is an altered craft, just right for valentine’s cards.  I currently use it to store completed cards that I have made but think I will change to hold my special love notes.  I really like this box; it reflects my personality and makes me smile when I look at it.



The Recipe
1.      Get a box - Any box will do: this one was a “suit case” type box meant to hold a set of children’s books.  I got this box for free when I was at Boarders close-out sales, it was empty, but I new it would make a great altered project!   A baby shoe box would work great to I think.

 2.      Choose a pallet of four coordinating colors – I used Red, Yellow, Black and Cream/off white

3.      Find a base paper you like. I couldn't find in my stash what I wanted so I made my own using my Imagine: I first used a small diamond shape, colored it black, then flood-filled my mat with little black diamonds.  Print only and – wola!  Diamond Checkered Paper.

4.      I used a plaid sheet from Provo Craft’s Christmas Cheer Cricut 6X12 stack for my red center papers.

5.      Next I used Happy Hunting's  for the following words/phrases: Love Notes, Smile, Notes, Romance, Little Things,  and This & That, as well as some swirls/flourish

6.       Gather coordinating bling - trinkets, ribbons, and flowers, brads, Cricut cuts,  - things you like

7.       Arrange – this is the fun part - decide where you want everything (play around a bit).  Then, once you are satisfied (that is the part that always takes me a while) glue it all in place. 

8.       The last stage is decoupage.  I got a little nervous here; everything got all wrinkly and bumpy – but no fear – there are no mistakes in creativity.  And it all dried nice and flat. 

                     Note on the flowers:  

The back (yellow) flower is paper.  I put cloth flowers on top of that and put them together with a brad.  I glued and decoupaged over the entire back/bottom yellow layer, lifting up the other layers, to make sure it would have a good strong bound and still be 3D – worked great!

Bright flowers: I used cloth of cream with red and black splatters

Bling – various key charms, gems, stamps, old playing cards, stickers, Cricut cuts
Ribbon:  Black lace ribbon (around the top) and black word ribbon
Happy Hunting’s cartridge (words & flourishes)
Paper clips (to hold note (inside lid))
Black or brown ink (around edges of box and some papers)

Christmas Explosion Box

Hi.  I am very excited to share my latest project. An explosion box I made with the new imagine cartridge “Santa’s Village”.  This cart has some wonderful images that print/cut in multiple layers for a three-dimensional affect.  Here are some of the first cuts I made.

I had been planning an explosion Christmas box, as a gift to the grandparents (with photos of the kids) for a while.  I had my layers all cut (directions below) but was unsure of how I wanted to decorate until I saw this cart.  I noticed it on the Hello Thursday release, ordered it Friday and had it in my hands by Wednesday.  Since I had all layers and mats already cut, I didn’t get to use the cute patterns that came on the cart (although they would have worked), but the papers I had already chosen coordinated perfectly with the colors and images on this fantastic vintage looking Christmas cartridge.   

For the Christmas tree in the center I cut out six trees at 4 ½ inches (three of them are flipped images).  I scored all six down the center and alternated flipped & un-flipped trees gluing each half to a different half of another tree.  I made sure not to glue the base”skirt” of the tree; with those, I folded out to make a stand and wrapped fringed around it.  I added some stickles and a tiny tinsel garland to the tree and ta da – I love how it turned out!

Next, after gluing all my mats to the layers, I added ribbons, decorative brads, paper clips, and gems to spruce it up.  Then on the inner layer I glued the 3D images I had print/cut on my imagine.  

I real like the finished product.  Now I just need to add some picture of my boys, and I’ll have one gift down – that is if I can part with this – I really like it.

Box Instructions

Start with 12 X 12 – score at 4’ and turn, score at 4” and turn (repeat four times)
--I say “turn” because on the remanding pieces this will be important to get the square center.
Second piece – use a 11 x 11 sheet – score at 3¾ (turn) and repeat four times (don’t forget to turn)
Third sheet – 10 X 10 - score at 3½ and turn (repeat four times)
Lid – 8 x 8 sheets – score at 2’ turn and repeat four times.

For the three base pieces you will need to cut out the 4 corners on each piece, leaving a pulse sign.  The corners you cut out can be trimmed and used at photo mats on another layer.

For the lid, only cut one side of the corner piece so it will fold in and glue to the next side of the lid. DO NOT cut out the corners altogether on the lid. 

Decorate and add photo mats before you glue centers bases together, as it is a lot easier to work with while they are separated.

I used three solid colors with four different coordinating patterned papers for this box.
